In the spring of 2023, I had the opportunity to direct the world premiere of the new musical Last Song on Earth, written by Danielle Llevada, Kevin Park, and Riley Glick. The two-person musical follows two people, left abandoned by the earth, who find one another after five years alone and learn how to love again after loss. In discovering the joy of sharing a life with someone, this piece celebrates those you have loved, those you love, and those you have yet to love. We produced this musical outdoors to engage in how this music and show interacts with its natural environment, nature ultimately serving as a third character of sorts.
